The Best Places for a Good Outside Hang in Los Feliz

#Patiodrinking, #laptopoutside, #sunreading, # chillinLosFeliz

It's truly summer now, and we love to hang outside in Los Feliz. Whether you’re looking for a patio drink, an outdoor work spot, a place to read a book, or just a place to chill, we’ve put together a list of the best outdoor spots to hang out in in Los Feliz.

Coffee Bean on Hillhurst
2081 Hillhurst Ave
With a huge outdoor patio complete with plenty of seating, good coffee, free wi-fi, and a decent amount of shade, the Coffee Bean on Hillhurst and Ambrose is one of the best outdoor work spots on the east side. Shoot for one of the corner spots near the street for optimal shade and the best people watching. If you’re along the outside parallel to Hillhurst or Ambrose, there are plenty of plugs for your numerous devices. Watch out for the birds if you’re enjoying a muffin too slowly, they’ll just straight up take it. For more good coffee shops, check out the The Hillhurst Hustler Los Feliz coffee shop guide

Desert Rose
1700 Hillhurst Ave
The D-Rose has one of the best patios on the entire east side, and great happy hour deals. You can find shade or sun, enjoy delicious gourmet Mediterranean food, and sit in super comfy chairs. This is an ultimate lounge outside location for day drinking and noshing. For more great happy hour deals, check out the Hillhurst Hustler Happy Hour Guide

The Los Feliz Library
1874 Hillhurst Ave
Many people don’t realize there’s an outdoor area near the parking lot behind the Los Feliz Library. The internet works out there, and you have plenty of shade. It’s a nice place to chill and read or work without having to buy a coffee. Make sure to check the Library Hours so you know the wi-fi will be working.

SPITZ for Happy Hour
1725 Hillhurst Ave
The open air atmosphere, an amazing happy hour deal, and new sidewalk style seating outside makes of Spitz on Hillhurst one of the best places to hang with a quality summer drink and perfectly complimentary bites of food.

The Farmers’ Markets

On Wednesday and Sunday you can find a farmers’ market in Los Feliz.  They’re the perfect chill way to get out and move around on a nice day. Check out the Hillhurst Hustler Farmers' Market Guide for more info.

Home Restaurant
1760 Hillhurst Ave
For casual dining outdoors, Home offers a very tranquil setting with trees over-hanging and a koi pond in the middle. They have high-quality diner style foods, and a good selection of drinks.

Barnsdall Art Park
4800 Hollywood Blvd
With outstanding views and a pristine lawn, it’s a great place to put a blanket down and read. They host a lot of different events throughout the summer, so stay tuned for some outdoor fun at Barnsdall Park.

Sidewalks of Vermont Ave
Along Vermont Ave you can chill at a number of great restaurants and coffee shops with sidewalk seating including Figaro Cafe, the new and improved Public House, the appropriately named Sidewalk Cafe, Fred 62, El Greco, Bru, Starfish Sushi, and Il Capriccio.

Best Los Feliz Related Tweets This Week

Sometimes I like to check out the tweets about Los Feliz, just to see what’s going on or what people are chatting about in the area. Here are my favorites from this week –

I'm excited for an empty Los Feliz during Coachella weekend, a.k.a. the Hipster Rapture. (Joke stolen, as usual, from @girlofthefuture.)

Like I said, everyone from #MadMen lives in #LosFeliz, including costume designer extraordinaire @JanieBryant! #NotMad

When you get excited cuz Los Feliz area is on house hunters

Sometimes we actually leave #losfeliz, but only when something really cool is happening, right @90039fest (and we try not to go too far).

It's A Disaster hits theaters TODAY in NY and LA. I (and cast) will be doing Q&A's at the Los Feliz 3 all weekend!

If you have a favorite Tweet about Los Feliz recently, send 'em over!

What's Going on at the Los Feliz Library in April?

I love the Los Feliz Library branch up there on Hillhurst and Franklin, and the more time I spend there, the more I realize how great the place is for the community. They host a ton of great events for all kinds of interests, so I thought I'd tell you about a few of the events I thought sounded like a good time coming up this month.

Adult Book Club Discussion -- April 6th, 11:00 AM
Discussing the Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. Copies and study guides at the circulation desk, new members welcome.

Create art and learn about it!

Puppet Show! -- April 13th, 11:00 AM
